~ Wire worked with hand tools and determination ~ Most things are sterling silver. There is some copper, some beach glass. Not to mention many hours of my life.

While living in Toronto I took classes at George Brown College and really liked the solderless wirework course. That was 2001. The name "virtually blind" comes from an assessment during a physical for a job with the local electric utility in Toronto. That evaluation made it very easy to impress my new bosses. I stayed 11 yrs., in various capacities. Then I cheerfully accepted an “exit package” and came home to Nova Scotia. Now I am a member of the Metal Arts Guild of Nova Scotia. I am legally blind, and just to keep it interesting, see no colour at all. My favourite colour is shiny. I can usually be found on Saturday mornings bending wire and flogging my wares at the Halifax Farmer’s Market.

Hi...just stumbled on to your site while searching the Blogs for 'wire jewellery'. I'm from PEI and have just gone into business for myself (last winter) making Wire Jewellery that uses authentic Beach Glass collected by my parents over the years. Just wanted to say 'hey'. And...I almost can't see your post on the main page...at the risk of being insensitive, was that intentional? The color of the words is too close to the color of the background. Of course, it did make me read really carefully!
